AGAIN, I WARN YOU, SPOILERS AHEAD.
Some highlights of Dawnguard:
SYNOPSIS: The story of Dawnguard involves the return of a vampire lord named Harkon, who seeks to put a stop to his greatest enemy: the sun. Harkon intend to use the untold power in the ancient Elder Scrolls to accomplish his goal, while an order of vampire hunters (the titular Dawnguard) hopes to stop him. The conflict puts players in a position to choose sides; fighting alongside the Dawnguard to defeat Harkon is one option, but you can also join forces with the undead and expand your own vampiric powers. Like the civil war quests in the base game, your choice changes the quests you undertake. "We present players with both sides of the storyline pretty early in the DLC," says lead artist Matt Carofano. "There is a lot of unique content depending on which side you choose."
A castle. Just a few weeks ago I was thinking how cool it would be for the Dragonborn to own his own castle.
1.) IN DAWNGUARD YOU CAN OWN A CASTLE. If... IF you side with the vampires. Otherwise, you can live in Fort Dawnguard
and use it as your base of operations for vampire killin'.
2.) YES, you can become a Vampire Lord. NO you cannot be a werewolf at the same time.
3.) Werewolves and Vampire Lords will now have their own skill trees in the level up menu!
4.) Mounted combat.
5.) Crossbows. Can stagger an opponent but are slow to reload.
6.) NEW MONSTERS include; Deathhounds, gargoyles and armored trolls... Yes. You read that right... ARMORED trolls...
Because the trolls weren't tough enough already...
7.) DRAGONS WILL BE LEVELED UP. Fighting dragons will be more difficult somehow, but details are still sketchy on this...
8.) You can return to the PLANES OF OBLIVION in Dawnguard. (Anyone else think this is AWESOME!?)
9.) A new character in the Ratway can alter your appearance. Your race and gender stay the same however.
(Does anyone else think this sounds strange?)
10.) Dawnguard isn't meant for low level players... Level up first.
11.) New shouts include 'Soul Tear'. Tears the soul from an enemy and can raise him to fight for you.
Anyone else excited about these new additions?!
